PRBA Annual Session

Introduction: We thank God for the presence and
the indwelling of the Holy Spirit because when it seems as though; everything
else fails the Holy Spirit is always is there to comfort us.
Subject: The enemy is
near but Jesus is closer!
The Book of Isaiah: Isaiah is like a miniature Bible. The first thirty-nine chapters (like the
thirty-nine books of the Old Testament) are filled with judgment upon immoral
and idolatrous men. Judah has sinned; the surrounding nations have sinned; the
whole earth has sinned. Judgment must
come, for God cannot allow such blatant sin to go unpunished forever. But the final twenty- seven chapters (like
the twenty seven books of the New Testament) declare a message of hope. The Messiah is coming as a Savior and a
Sovereign God to bear a cross and to wear a Crown.
O yes, God revealed to Isaiah that He would give His only begotten
Son to save the world from sin and anyone who would believe on Him. As I prayed for a "Word" to preach to this
Association God revealed to me to inform you that the enemy is close but Jesus Christ is closer, and to inform
you that the devil wants to destroy the church and every Association that is
affiliated with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit…understand me please
that our adversary our enemy are not the people that we do not get along with.
I want you to understand and know that Satan is the enemy and he uses people to
agitate and get on your last nerve, but one thing I do know that is prayer and
praises changes the situation.
King David stated "In the day when I cried thou answeredst
me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul" (Psalm 138:3)…God will
answer prayer! And when you praise God, the results are like a "tsunami" it moves everything out of the
way. If there is some stuff in your life
that you want God to remove began to praise Him and worship Him in Spirit and
As I focused on the Word; God revealed to me that Satan
wanted to kill Jesus before He made it to the cross. Satan wanted to make God out of a lie…one of
his attempts happen when Jesus was a baby (Matthew 2:13) …."for Herod will seek
the young child to destroy him" and then Satan tried to persuade Jesus through
Peter not to go to the cross "Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him,
saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee"…But he turned,
and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for
thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men"
(Matthew 16:22, 23)…Satan did not want Jesus to go to the cross because he is
aware of the power of God. Satan trembles when the weakest of saints pray to
God…Satan knows if God speak it, it can happen, just as God said "let there be
light there was light"…the Devil know that God can make a way out of no way
just as He did for Moses and the children of Israel when they were faced with
the Red Sea and God told Moses "But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine
hand over the sea, and divide it" (Exodus 14:16)…your enemy is close but Jesus Christ is closer.
We thank God that He
revealed through Isaiah the obedience of
the Messiah. Verses 4-9: That He would bless anyone that is weary from their labor and trials of
this world as long as you understand that it's all about Jesus Christ and Him
crucified…you can thank Jesus that He knew "not my will Lord but thou will be
done" "I must drink from the bitter cup"…Jesus humble Himself, they spat upon
Him, they hit Him…like a brave solider Jesus knew that He must be obedient and
do the 'will" of God because He knew that His Father would help in the time of
need because God is always near…and He made a decree, let us stand together! Church it's time we unite together as one
in Christ Jesus…who is willing to fight by way of prayer and praises
getting together every now then and letting Satan know not only is Jesus close
to me but I am also close to Him as well… He made it known if you don't stand
with me…who is my adversary?
Conclusion: I don't know about you but I am glad that I
know the resurrected Savior for myself…you see God took Isaiah and drop him
down through time…said come here and let me show you somebody that going to bring
power and victory to dead situation… when Isaiah saw Him "his face was so
marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of man…God said "For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be
upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The
mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
They took Jesus and
nail Him to the cross, they put nail in His hands, they put nails in His feet,
they put a crown of thrones on His, and around the ninth hour… He gave up the
ghost, but early, early, early, early Sunday morning He got up with all power
both in heaven and in earth.
